On occasion of the AMT July 2022 Tea Break, Geoffrey WOOLF has reported on a recent workplace dispute he managed as mediator/facilitator.

AMT is the Italian association of transformative mediators, and Geoff is Dean of Humanities and Sciences and Professor of Literature at Cincinnati State College in Ohio. He is also member of the ISCT board.

The case illustrates how different cultural backgrounds may easily lead to bias, and ignate conflict. ... and how the transformative approach may actually help the parties in better understanding each other, and also prevent the mediator to inadvertently impose his own worldview - as it often happens under the facilitative model.
